Funny Fridays return to the Arts Centre Comedy Café this Friday with Cornish funnyman Matt Price headlining the show.
Fresh from the Edinburgh Festival, where his show was universally praised by critics, Matt Price is renowned for his storytelling abilities which make him a hit with comics and audiences alike.
Years of experience on the circuit have left Price with an array of amazing tales from gigging in Broadmoor prison to most recently escaping the Turkish Mafia with Colin Manford, brother of TV comedian Jason.
He will be ably supported on the evening by Bristol Based Martin Pilgrim, praised by The Guardian for his measured Stewart Lee-esque comedic style.
Completing the line up will be Robert Honeybun and Marcus Gill, two of the Westcountry’s finest new comics.
Hosting the night will be regular MC Tom Glover, who has been keeping busy during the summer compering the comedy tent at Boardmaster’s Festival in Newquay and supporting Milton Jones at the Taunton Comedy Festival.
The Comedy Café aims to bring fresh comedy talent to Bridport for a bargain price, before the acts hit the big time.
Previous shows have featured Stephen Carlin who went on to star in Comedy Central’s Alternative Comedy Experience and Matt Richardson, now host of The Xtra Factor and a panel show regular.
Host Tom Glover said: “You may not know the acts on the line up now but they are all handpicked by me and are comedians I know are highly rated on the circuit.
“We have a regular crowd who always comment on how impressed they are with the quality and with five acts on the bill every month there is always something for everyone to enjoy.
“The price has gone up slightly this season to help us maintain a great standard of acts but it is still the cheapest night of live comedy you’ll find in Bridport.”
This month’s Bridport Arts Centre Comedy Café will be at 8pm Friday, 20 September.
Tickets are available from the box office on 01308 424204 or online, £7 adults/£5 concessions.
