138The Arts Centre has received a welcome boost thanks to the generosity of one of its South Street neighbours.
Parkers Property Consultants & Valuers have agreed a working partnership with the Arts Centre which will see the independent estate agent sponsor the venue’s popular event cinema programme for the foreseeable future.
The agreement will also see the Arts Centre and Parkers combine on other events over the coming years.
Adam Summers, branch manager of Parkers in Bridport, said: “The Bridport Arts Centre is a fantastic local institution and as soon as we opened our doors in the town last October, we were keen to show the venue our support.”
We are delighted how that relationship has now flourished into a working partnership and we are all
very excited about the prospect of working even closer with the great people there on forthcoming
With my wife being a dance teacher and myself having studied Theatre Studies at college, we are
also looking forward to attending some of the fantastic shows there over the coming months.”
Parkers, which was formed in 2010, is a family-run company which prides itself on serving the local community where the founders and the majority of the staff grew up.
Since opening its first office in Poundbury in Dorchester, Parkers has remained committed to
supporting a variety of local institutions and events throughout South and West Dorset.
Parkers director Mark Parker added: “My family has lived in this area all our lives and we are firm
believers in that sense of community. Whether it is sponsoring a local team or helping organise events,
we are always fully committed to doing what we can.”
This latest link up with the Arts Centre is something we are very proud of. The amount of hours the
staff at the Arts Centre put in to make it so successful is truly incredible and we are only too happy to
do our bit to support them.
