Dearly Beloved £17, £15 concs/MDA

Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate the life and work (plagiarized for the most part) of Charlie Bicknell, 197080-last week – cabaret artist, actress and circus eccentric.

She is survived by Louise Innes, ‘internationally acclaimed’ Opera singer and suspiciously alive cabaret partner. Accompanied by a grieving David Harrod (but then he’s always miserable) on the piano and a gratuitous trumpet player as Charlie can no longer blow her own.  Reverend Jonathan Booth will deliver his eulogy, inspired by The Seven Ages of Man.  Illustrated robustly with the help of Tim Minchin, Jacques Brel, Billy Eilish and Mozart, among others.

‘This show was conceived 5 years ago and is in no way intended to display any insensitivity in light of the pandemic. We very much hope not to trigger distress with the prop of a coffin. It is a show about life, not death, intended to make people laugh.’

“Witty, wanton, wonderful - cabaret with claws. A heady, edgy high-octane mix of English rose, Vamp and Cruella, shamelessly sexy, murderously funny. You have been warned. Roses have thorns.”
