JAZZ CAFE APRIL
Hot Club of Stonehouse
The Hot Club of Stonehouse bring the gypsy jazz of 1930s Paris bals musettes to present day Britain-their authentic Hot Club sound is sultry, insouciant and swinging in the style of the legendary Django Reinhardt. The duo features the incendiary locomotive lead work of Melanie Bridle-Scullion on violin and ‘louche manouche’ rhythm from Julian Isaacs.
Their musicianship has garnered acclaim from many quarters including guitar supremo Martin Taylor MBE and veteran bassist Spike Heatley: “They had me swinging and tapping my foot from the very beginning-bravo!”
