Sophie Smith and Sam Dunn

Inspired by the great sounds of the Ella Fitzgerald/Joe Pass team, Sophie and Sam breathe new life into the classic songs of the ‘Great American Songbook’.

Sophie Smith released her debut album, “You’d Be So Nice To Come Home To” in 2010. Since then she has entered into various collaborations, and she is a member of the London Vocal Project. “Sophie’s peerless sense of swing, her phrasing and her harmonic awareness move her into the category of a great jazz singer- a very rare breed.”Alan Barnes

Sam Dunn’s guitar style is strongly influenced by the history of jazz. Recent work has seen him tour Australia with Grammy nominated pianist and singer, Judy Carmichael, who praised him as “a wonderful musician on all levels.”

Sophie and Sam began making music together at the Guildhall School of Music in 2003.  After life took them to different parts of the UK and a period where Sam sailed the high seas (with the aid of his guitar), the pair have reconnected, bringing their maturity and experience to form this brilliant musical duo.
