An instrumental jazz/world quartet fusing Levantine mystery, Balkan passion and Latin rhythms into powerful original compositions.
Guitarist Dave Spencer writes and arranges the band’s striking original material – melodic compositions with a Middle Eastern feel that give the project its unique character. Fellow guitarist Tony Barby also plays charango, (a small Bolivian lute) which adds an authentic touch to the pieces with South American rhythms. Bassist Sol Ahmed has appeared at Ronnie Scotts and the Montreal Jazz Festival, and Jon Clark, who has studied with many masters of ethnic percussion traditions, completes the ensemble on drums
