Living Tree Poetry Evening FREE

To further celebrate the creative activities of members of The Living Tree, this will be a vibrant evening of live and uplifting readings of poetry and short pieces of prose. Prize-winning poet Rosie Jackson, who has run workshops for The Living Tree since it began, will host the event, introduce different readers, and read some of her own poems, as well as presenting moving work by Zenobia Venner and the late Jo O’Farrell and Sophie Sabbage. Some of the poems will come from the Living Tree anthology the Book of Words. Poetry is one of the simplest yet most powerful tools for personal healing, transformation and acceptance: it can help us understand ourselves better, support us with challenges we are facing, relieve our isolation through sharing, and help find creative solutions. Come and hear the words of people who have learned resilience and humour, found ways through some of the strongest of challenges, and made a bid on the side of life at its best.
