ROH THE WINTER’S TALE

Shakespeare’s tale of love and loss becomes compelling dance drama in Christopher Wheeldon’s ballet adaptation, with music by Joby Talbot.

The plot centres on a king’s irrational jealousy of the relationship between his wife and friend, and the destruction it causes. Read a synopsis of the work written by Christopher Wheeldon. Performed less frequently than Shakespeare’s other works, it is perhaps best known for its notorious stage direction, ‘Exit, pursued by a bear’. Find out more about different Shakespeare adaptations.
