Turning Estonian folk music on it’s head…

Trad.Attack! have turned Estonian folk music on its head since releasing their 2014 debut album AH! Combining the bagpipe playing and vocals of Sandra Vabarna, virtuoso guitar of Jalmar Vabarna and inventive percussion of  Tõnu Tubli, the trio take their inspiration from old archive recordings of Estonian traditional songs.

But folk music is merely their starting point, not their boundary.

The trio’s second album Shimmer Gold is was released in May 2017, and has been electrifying audiences at this year’s round of summer festivals.

Winner of Estonian Ethno Music Awards 2015. Best band, best album and best song.
