Seat mover – flexi, permanent, part-time (to suit operational needs of the Arts Centre)
We are looking for someone to join the team as a seat mover in the theatre. There are many variations of seat layout in the theatre, which will be communicated by the General Manager (Programming) and supported by regularly updated rotas. The job – by the very nature of the ever-changing programme in the theatre – needs someone who has a large degree of flexibility around work times. Full training on layout and the manual handling aspect of this post will be given.
The rate of pay is £10 per hour. If this post interests you, please contact Dee Fenton – General Manager (Programming) to discuss further or to arrange a trial seat move. If you are available at little or short notice, that’s even better! [email protected] 01308 424204
Visual Arts Programme Manager
Bridport Arts Centre is an arts charity based in Bridport, Dorset established in 1973 and a member of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio. As well as the 194 seat Marlow theatre, our main venue incorporates the Allsop Gallery, the largest publicly funded gallery in Dorset.
We are currently seeking a Visual Arts Programme Manager, ideally a visual arts graduate, with experience of working in a gallery and some experience of curation, willing to develop a good understanding of the different audiences we aim to reach and to work with artists working in any media. Communication skills, including an ability to articulate our curatorial vision are essential to the role, and applicants will need to evidence an informed interest in contemporary art and visual culture.
Over the past 12 months we have been reviewing our visual arts offer, redefining our aims and creating a visual arts strategy. We have a visual arts programme in place for the rest of the year and a broad strategy agreed for the following 3 years.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, visual arts professional with experience of organising exhibitions and other activities to join our small team. You will work with the Director and the visual arts strategy group to help us refine and enact our vision, bringing your own ideas and experience to inform our approach.
