Call out – Visual Arts Panel recruitment

Bridport Arts Centre is looking for members to join a newly formed Visual Arts Panel to programme exhibitions in the Allsop Gallery & Cafe/Foyer boards.

The Panel

A cross section of at least 6-8 panel members from visual arts backgrounds, and non-visual arts backgrounds will be tasked with the Director to programme both the Allsop Gallery and the Café/Foyer boards. This panel will change in 12-month cycles with recruitment for members happening every year.

The panel will meet three times a year and will discuss in an open forum the entries for potential programming. The programming will have to fit in with the themes/events/activities of Bridport Arts Centre as a way of complimenting a holistic approach to visitors.

Public entries (those entered through a public call out) will be collated by Bridport Arts Centre. The panel members should also bring along prospects to approach to boost the reputation of Visual Arts in Bridport. There should be a good range of programming from sculpture, paintings, drawings, digital, textile, etc. Final decision will be made by the Director of the Arts Centre.

The programming of talks and workshops will also take place at this meeting to compliment the visual arts, communicating within enough time to be published in Bridport Arts Centre’s What’s On Guide.
