Emma’s Soupe à l’oignon

Emma's French FancyTwo things in life that are guaranteed to make me happy are French cuisine and French film. So when we programmed an all day French film and lunch on February 2nd, I was delighted to be asked to do the cooking. The first thing that comes to mind when thinking of a delicious lunch inspired by our across-the-pond neighbours is their Onion Soup with cheesy croutons.

I’ve spent hours looking through books and online recipes in the past and stumbled across an absolute blinder – Raymond Blanc’s French Onion Soup. This, in my albeit relatively unimportant opinion, is the best I have ever come across and if you are coming along to watch Marius and Fanny it’s this recipe I will be following. You’re welcome.
