Award-winning screenwriter, best-selling novelist and festival curator Chris Chibnall discusses the power of great scripts and shares some favourite clips.

Chris selects eight of his favourite ‘Big Screen Banger’ film scripts and discusses the screenwriters behind them plus the influence they’ve had on him. Chris will be in conversation with acclaimed writer John Higgs.
Chris is a BAFTA, Royal Television Society, Broadcasting Press Guild and Peabody award-winning screenwriter, executive producer, novelist and playwright whose work has been seen, read, translated and remade around the world. Most recently, Chris has written the screenplay for Netflix’s Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials. His other television work includes the multiple BAFTA winner Broadchurch; Doctor Who; United; Torchwood and Life on Mars. Chris’s best-selling first novel, Death at the White Hart, is soon to be a major ITV drama.

John is a novelist, journalist and cultural historian whose books include The KLF: Chaos, Magic and the Band who Burned a Million Pounds, William Blake vs the World and Lynchian: The Spell of David Lynch.
