The Closet Freaks invite you to celebrate the sounds and spirit of the alternative music scene—from the rebellious pulse of the ’70s and ’80s to the underground echoes that still resonate today. Whether you go full punk, new wave chic, or keep it casually offbeat, this is your chance to embrace your inner outsider—dress up, dress down, just come as you are.

Taking over the decks are three passionate DJs spinning their favourite classic vinyl selections, to keep you dancing, diving into punk, new wave, post punk and alternative rock. The trio consists of Kathy Kelly, Penny Blackham and Dingo.

Each brings their own history from iconic music scenes in Bristol, Sheffield, and Leeds, now rooted in the local community. Together, they’ve been shaping Bridport’s alternative nightlife through their Lampshade Collective events, while Kathy has been a familiar force on the scene for over 15 years with Beat Safari.
