BACstage Youth Theatre

“BACstage has taught me a lot about theatre that I was never taught in school… I have gained a lot of confidence in my skills.” Rosie, BACstage member

BACstage is BAC’s youth theatre group. It’s for anyone aged 12-18 who wants to develop creative and performance skills and become a member of a group that has been part of Bridport’s performing scene for many years.

BACstage is a unique group where you can:

– Work with acclaimed theatre director Niki McCretton and a team of expert theatre practitioners.
– Enjoy building skills in improvisational theatre – work with others to stage your own ideas rather than simply following someone else’s script.
– Perform in lots of different styles – stage, street theatre, solo work, physical theatre etc.
– Build new friendships and be happy to push yourself to try new things and support others to be confident creators.
– Feel that you are an important member of the group and have a say in what we do.

You will be joining a group with a strong track record of providing a launch pad for further training or a career in the creative and performing arts. Past BACStagers have gone on to work in the performing arts industry as professionals in acting, singing, puppetry, writing and theatre management.

Our autumn term starts on Wednesday 10th September 2025 and classes run from 6 to 8pm. We meet each Wednesday during term time.

£80 per term, but your first trial session is free. Bespoke payment plans can be arranged.
