BSO On Your Doorstep | Serenades & Starbursts, String Ensemble

A concert to pull at your heartstrings and satisfy any curious soul. A 19 piece Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Strings Ensemble present an energetic, eclectic programme rich in heritage and heart.

Take a musical tour beginning along the Mediterranean coastline, inspired by Jenkins’ beloved Palladio, the 16th century Italian architect from which the piece gets its name. Sink into the sublime as we serenade you with Tchaikovsky’s string masterpiece -a poised and sedate piece that lies at the heart of this musical tapestry. Then journey east with Bartok’s Romanian Folk Dances and Skyork’s beguiling Ukrainian Melody. Rounding this concert off,  Holst pays homage to British folk song with his charming St. Paul’s Suite.
