In Aid of Weldmar Hospicecare
This fun afternoon is being organised to support a trek in the mountains & forests of Madagascar in November 2024, to raise money for Weldmar Hospicecare, our local hospice in Dorchester. Weldmar offer dedicated end of life care to patients & families across Dorset, which is free of charge & dependent upon the generous fundraising efforts of the local community – did you know they need to raise £18,000 a day to offer their skilled care & services.
To mark Weldmar Hospicecare’s 30th anniversary in 2024, they are planning two Overseas Challenges – one in Madagascar, the other to Machu Picchu. Those taking part need to train to prepare themselves for these treks, & fundraise – so what better way to help them raise money than to bring the family to watch Madagascar 3!
Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman are still trying to get back to the Big Apple and their beloved Central Park zoo, but first they need to find the penguins. When they travel to Monte Carlo, they attract the attention of Animal Control after gate-crashing a party and are joined by the penguins, King Julian and Co., and the monkeys. How do a lion, a zebra, a hippo, a giraffe, four penguins, two monkeys, and three lemurs travel through Europe without attracting attention and get back to New York? They join a travelling circus!
