A Christmas Carol is coming to Bridport

After the phenomenal success of two national tours of The Book of Darkness & Light and a 40+ date tour of Shivers in 2018/19, THE STORYTELLER and THE MUSICIAN return with an adaptation of that most famous festive ghost story… A Christmas Carol.

Adapted by writer Adam Z. Robinson and performed in their inimitable storytelling style, this production of the well-loved tale teases out the gothic and the ghostly aspects, presenting Dickens’ remarkable story as you’ve never seen it before.

The production marks the company’s first foray into classic literature, combining the unmistakable and beloved prose of Charles Dickens with the thrilling and chilling performance of this macabre duo. Join Ebenezer Scrooge, and a whole host of characters, as he journeys into the past, present and yet-to-come on a supernatural journey to redemption.

The show will be cosy, hair-raising festive fun. Watch with delight as the atmosphere of Victorian London is brought to life… and the ghosts of Christmas return from the dead, all through the spellbinding medium of storytelling.

Using their charming, signature combination of a live violin score, engaging narration, recorded voices and eerie sound effects, the show transports audiences to the offices of Scrooge and Marley, the humble Cratchit household and the fearful, final resting place of that most infamous miser. It’s like gathering round a fireside and being invited into the world of this Christmas classic.

Bridport Arts Centre are thrilled to offer a unique opportunity to watch this spellbinding performance in two atmospheric venues; Bridport United Church on Thursday 2nd December at 7:30pm and at Chapel in the Garden on Friday 3rd December at 7:30pm.
