South West launch of the anticipated second novel, The Parkwood Murders coming to BAC this July!
Bridport Arts Centre (BAC) is bringing back one of Britain’s most celebrated storytellers, Sunday Times bestselling author Chris Chibnall, on Monday 13th July 7.30pm for the South West launch of his eagerly anticipated second novel, The Parkwood Murders.
The multi award-winning Bridport-based author and screenwriter, best known for creating Broadchurch and writing Doctor Who, will be in conversation with BBC Radio Dorset Breakfast presenter Steve Harris, discussing the inspiration behind The Parkwood Murders, his writing process, and what it’s really like to swap the writers’ room for the novelist’s desk.
The Parkwood Murders takes place in the idyllic woodland Parkwood Holiday Village in West Dorset, where a body is found early one morning in the pool complex. With no-one allowed to leave, Detective Nicola Bridge must contend with hundreds of restless guests and staff, any of whom could be a suspect. As the clock ticks down, can Nicola and DC Harry Ward catch the killer before they strike again?
Chris’s debut novel, Death at the White Hart, hit the Sunday Times bestseller list in both hardback and paperback and earned nominations at the British Book Awards 2026, the Fingerprint Awards and the International Thriller Writers Awards.
Guests will have the opportunity to purchase a signed copy of The Parkwood Murders at a special pop-up stall from the team at Waterstones Bridport on the night, ahead of the book’s official publication date on 16 July.
To complete the evening, Dark Bear will be serving a selection of delicious murder mystery-inspired cocktails, specially created for the occasion.
Every ticket sold goes directly to BAC. The money raised will fund the charity’s year-round programme of arts, culture and community activity right here in Bridport.
