Reggae Bridport – Adrian Boot in conversation with Jacqueline Springer

This free event is the perfect introduction to our latest exhibition, Reggae Bridport, featuring photographs by Adrian Boot that explore the worlds of reggae.

West Dorset resident Adrian Boot is one of the UK’s most renowned music photographers. His career highlights include serving as the chief photographer for Live Aid, Nelson Mandela’s Freedom at 70, Roger Waters’ The Wall in Berlin, and Greenpeace in the Soviet Union.

His diverse projects have taken him around the globe, including working with ORBIS, the flying eye hospital, in Africa; the British Council in Iraq and Jordan; the Grateful Dead in Egypt; and Island Records in Jamaica, Colombia, Algeria, Nigeria and beyond.

Adrian has authored several books, including Babylon on a Thin Wire and Jah Revenge with Michael Thomas, and collaborated with Chris Salewicz on Bob Marley – Songs of FreedomFirefly – Noel Coward in JamaicaMidnights in Moscow – in the USSR with Billy BraggPunk – History of a Music Revolution, and Reggae Explosion – The Story of Jamaican Music.

He continues to work with Island Outposts in Jamaica and the Caribbean, Recently, he contributed to the Beyond the Baseline exhibition at the British Library and is currently working on a major new exhibition set for 2026.

Adrian will be in conversation with Jacqueline Springer, Curator Africa and Diaspora: Performance at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

There will also be an opportunity for a first look at the new exhibition.

Tickets are free, but please reserve in advance to ensure admission. 

Reggae Bridport is at the Allsop Gallery from 26 July – 13 September 2025.
