Jazz Cafe Mitch Hiller

TICKET £14 Adult, £12 concs., £5 student

Vocalist Mitch Hiller and pianist Philip Clouts present a wide ranging programme of songs from the jazz greats as well as some music from the likes of Stevie Wonder and the Beatles.

Vocalist Mitch Hiller comes from a musical family-his father wrote songs for artists such as Kenny Lynch and his uncle wrote the Eurovision Song Contest winner “Save All Your Kisses For Me”. Mitch himself has worked as singer, musician, writer, producer, and vocal coach with many famous artists including The Foundations, Chaka Khan, Amy Winehouse, Lulu, Geno Washington, and the Pet Shop Boys. He has performed all over Britain, Europe and the USA.

Pianist Philip Clouts’ international career has included playing at Ronnie Scott’s, large festivals such as Glastonbury and Womad, and equally in the plush and intimate surroundings of London’s Lanesborough Hotel. Jazzwise magazine has praised his ‘enjoyable, easy swinging’ playing, and his albums have received widespread critical acclaim and national airplay, including on BBC’s Jamie Cullum Show.

The evening will feature ballads including “Misty,” soulful tunes like Ray Charles’ “Hallelujah I Love Her So”, songs from musicals such as “On the Street Where you Live,” and “Money Can’t Buy Me Love” from the Beatles.
