Free exhibition in the Foyer

Taking inspiration from the old Dorset words for happy/joyful and queer, this summer we’re inviting West Dorset’s LGBTQIA+ community to share their stories of their ‘queer joy’. Artist and archivist, Paul Sammut will respond to the submissions and create a brand new illustrated display that will be installed in the foyer this July.
Displayed until the end of August, the work will then be donated to the Dorset History Centre in Dorchester.

To get involved in this artistic act of queer celebration send your words (anything up to 500) and an associated image to [email protected]. Please note, not every submission can be included.

This exhibition is part of our season Our Stories: Queer in the Countryside which explores LGBTQIA+ lives and experiences and offers opportunities for celebrating diverse and under-represented voices.
